History of Yandas
Yandas Music actually started in the early 1900’s as Gaston’s Music and was located at 2220 Central Avenue in Kearney, Nebraska. Clark Yanda had been a band instructor in Ord for a number of years when he started a music store in Ord and then in 1964 bought the Gaston’s Music Store in Kearney. The Ord store eventually closed and the Kearney store became the base of operations for Clark. Yanda’s Music was a full line store selling Combo Gear, Organs, Electronic Pianos, Sound Systems and Band Instruments. In 1994 Clark took on Shawn King as a partner who in 1998 purchased the remainder of the business and renamed it Yandas Music & Pro Audio. In 2005 Yandas Music and Pro Audio moved to its current facility at 2301 Central Ave in Kearney. Over the years Yandas continued to provide musical products to generations of families. Yandas has also broadened it’s horizons over the past 10 years to include a full service repair shop, Live Sound, Video, and Lighting Production, Custom Sound & Video Installation and has widened it’s in store selection of music products.
